Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

Prenada Journal of Communication Studies upholds rigorous peer review standards while ensuring procedural efficiency throughout the evaluation process. Upon submission, manuscripts are forwarded to the chief editor, who subsequently assigns them to the section editor for an Initial Review phase. During this stage, the section editor conducts a comprehensive assessment of technical and formatting requirements to ensure compliance with journal guidelines.

Following successful completion of the initial review, manuscripts proceed to the substantive evaluation phase, wherein they are distributed to a minimum of two independent peer reviewers. This Double-Blind Peer Review Process ensures objectivity by concealing the identities of both authors and reviewers from one another. The peer reviewers conduct thorough examinations of the scholarly content, methodological rigor, and theoretical contributions of each submission.

Reviewer Recommendations

Each peer reviewer is obligated to provide an explicit recommendation for the manuscript by selecting from the following categories:

  • Accept Submission: The manuscript demonstrates adequate quality and satisfies all journal standards, warranting progression to the publication stage.
  • Revisions Required: Minor modifications are necessary, which may be verified by the original reviewer or approved directly by the editor.
  • Resubmit for Review: Substantial revisions are needed, necessitating an additional round of peer review following author revisions.
  • Resubmit Elsewhere: The manuscript does not align with the journal's thematic focus or falls outside its established scope.
  • Decline or Reject Submission: The submission exhibits significant deficiencies or fails to meet the journal's academic standards.

When revisions are requested, manuscripts are returned to authors with detailed feedback and guidance for improvement. The complete review cycle, from initial submission through final decision, typically requires approximately four months to conclude.
