The Prenada Journal of Communication Studies (PJCS) is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research papers and reviews in the field of communication studies and related research topics. All submissions to PJCS undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and validity of the published research. Types of Published Articles

PJCS publishes research articles and review articles in the field of communication studies.

  1. Research Articles Research articles report original research findings in communication studies and related fields. The research article should include a clear research question, methodology, results, and conclusion. The article should also provide a clear and concise discussion of the research findings, their implications, and their contributions to communication scholarship. PJCS accepts empirical studies, qualitative research, quantitative research, and mixed-methods research. The total length of the manuscript, including references, must not exceed 10,000 words.
  2. Review Articles Review articles comprehensively review the existing literature on a specific topic in communication studies. Review articles should critically analyze and synthesize the literature, identify knowledge gaps, and suggest future research directions. The format and length of review papers are more flexible than research articles. Typical reviews are less than 10,000 words, including references.

All published articles in PJCS should be based on rigorous and ethical research and adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity. The journal encourages the submission of articles that present innovative and original research and contribute to developing new theories, methodologies, and best practices in communication studies.

Publication Frequency

PJCS publishes academic issues three times per year according to the following schedule:

  • Issue 1: January - April
  • Issue 2: May - August
  • Issue 3: September - December

Each issue typically features 5-10 articles. The journal aims to provide timely and regular publication of high-quality research in communication studies and related fields.

Language

PJCS accepts manuscripts written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. Authors are encouraged to use clear and concise language and adhere to proper grammar and spelling standards. For articles written in Bahasa Indonesia, the author(s) are required to provide both an English title and an English abstract (250 words minimum) immediately preceding the main text.

Publication Charges

PJCS operates on a no-fee model. There are no article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, or publication fees for authors. All accepted articles are published free of charge, making high-quality communication research accessible to scholars regardless of their financial resources.
